Science2Practice
Science2Practice is our interface for interdisciplinary collaboration. It provides access to proven solutions and new developments from the worlds of science and professional practice as well as calls for qualification theses. There is also a digital e-learning environment with training and continuing education materials for public service interpreters and for professionals who come into contact with them in their day-to-day work. Information on the research results from the digilinguo test track is also provided on the platform on an ongoing basis.
Learning materials
Within Science2Practice, digilinguo develops carefully prepared learning materials that combine both theory and practice. Our aim is to ensure high-quality communication in multilingual public service settings in the long term. These resources are aimed at aspiring and professional public service interpreters as well as professionals working in the fields of healthcare, social services, education, and justice and asylum contexts. Their purpose is to help bridge language barriers in a professional and role-aware manner. Please note that the materials are currently available in German only. As Switzerland has several official languages, we are making our best efforts to provide selected content in French and, where possible, in Italian.

Structure
The learning materials are organised into two categories: basics and focus-area-specific learning.
The basics section covers topics that are relevant to all interpreters across all subject areas:
- Terminology work
- Note-taking technique
- Reflection and psychological self-care
Awareness of these topics is also valuable for professionals in the wide range of fields in which interpreters work.
In the focus-area-specific learning section, the learning materials are organised into learning units. Each unit addresses a specific topic within one of the focus areas. Our focus areas are as follows:
- Healthcare
- Social services and education
- Legal and asylum services
Each learning unit includes the following:
- Terminology lists for targeted preparation
- Audio files for active interpreting with and without notes
- Transcripts of the audio files for checking your work and for possible sight-translation practice
Across all units, learners are also provided with guidance on different practice formats as well as recommendations for self-reflection and peer feedback, including the required checklists.
